Arunachal Pradesh: Chief Minister Khandu Applauds TRIHMS Team for Landmark ROP Treatment

Itanagar, Oct 10: Chief Minister Pema Khandu has lauded the team at the Tomo Riba Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (TRIHMS) for attaining a notable medical breakthrough in the state. The team has successfully treated a one-month-old infant diagnosed with Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP) Plus Disease, marking a historic first for this procedure in Arunachal Pradesh.


The treatment involved the administration of intravitreal anti-VEGF under topical anesthesia. The procedure was spearheaded by Dr. Taw Anne Dipu, the state’s sole Retina Specialist, with collaboration from Dr. Pepu Jini and Dr. Nandan from the Department of Pediatrics.

This accomplishment highlights the team’s unwavering dedication to improving healthcare services for the residents of Arunachal Pradesh. The Chief Minister expressed his heartfelt appreciation for the team's commitment and efforts in delivering vital medical care to the community.
