Nagaland State Cabinet Assesses Preparations for the 25th Hornbill Festival



Kohima, Oct 10: The Nagaland State Cabinet convened on Wednesday to evaluate preparations for the forthcoming 25th Hornbill Festival, set to occur from December 1 to 10 at the Heritage Village in Kisama.

The meeting primarily centered on the initiatives of the Tourism Department in orchestrating the festival, underscoring the necessity of cooperation among various stakeholders to ensure its success.

K. G. Kenye, Government Spokesperson and Minister for Power and Parliamentary Affairs, conveyed optimism about attracting participants from across Nagaland, notwithstanding ongoing discussions related to the Frontier Naga Territory. He emphasized that the festival aims to draw visitors from beyond the state's borders and create a memorable experience.

Additionally, a coordination meeting with tribal Hohos and organizations was held, during which representatives tackled logistical challenges, including issues with water supply and connectivity. G. Hukugha Sema, Commissioner and Secretary of Tourism, highlighted the crucial role of tribal entities in the festival's success. He reflected on the achievements of prior festivals and reiterated the state's commitment to ensuring that the 25th edition is a remarkable celebration.
